Gentle yoga and deep, restorative stretches as Ohmyoga
Yin Yoga at Ohmyoga on Vesterbro in Copenhagen is a calm and meditative yoga practice that focuses on deep stretches, relaxation and body awareness. In a Yin Yoga class, you work with longer-held yoga postures designed to help release tension in the body and gradually improve flexibility.
Unlike more dynamic yoga styles, Yin Yoga is practiced at a slow and mindful pace, with poses typically held for several minutes. This allows the body to work deeper into the connective tissue, joints and fascia, while also giving the mind space to settle and relax.
At Ohmyoga in Copenhagen, Yin Yoga is practiced in a peaceful and beautiful studio environment on Vesterbro, where the atmosphere invites you to slow down, deepen your practice and reconnect with your body.
You can practice Yin Yoga either in our heated studio with infrared heat or in our regular yoga room without added heat, depending on the class format and your personal preference.

SOME YIN YOGA POSES AND WHY THEY ARE GOOD:
Yin yoga consists of long-held, passive poses that target deep connective tissues like fascia, ligaments, and tendons. Here are some common yin yoga poses and their benefits:
These yin yoga poses help improve flexibility, strengthen connective tissue, enhance joint mobility, and reduce stress. Practicing yin yoga at Ohmyoga in Copenhagen allows you to experience these benefits while cultivating mindfulness, relaxation, and body awareness.
Yin Yoga differs from many other yoga styles through its slow pace and focus on deep, long-held stretches. While dynamic styles such as Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga or Power Yoga often emphasize active movement and muscular strength, Yin Yoga works deeper into the body’s connective tissue, joints and fascia.
In a Yin Yoga class, postures are typically held for 3–5 minutes, allowing the body to gradually release tension and improve flexibility over time. In more dynamic yoga styles, practitioners move more frequently from one pose to another in a flowing sequence, with a stronger focus on strength, balance and physical intensity.
For this reason, Yin Yoga is often the perfect complement to more active yoga styles or physical training. At Ohmyoga in Copenhagen, many students combine Yin Yoga with other classes, as it helps the body recover, release tension and cultivate mental calm.
This balance between active yoga practice and deep relaxation is one of the reasons why Yin Yoga has become one of the most popular yoga styles in modern yoga practice.
